Firefighters Honored at Annual Awards Banquet

Firefighters from Buechel were honored by their peers at the fire districts 55th Annual Awards Banquet, Saturday March 15, 2003.

Firefighter William "Bill" Weiss was presented the "Steve Harrington Memorial Firefighter of the Year" award and his son, William "Cody" Weiss was selected as the "2002 Rookie of the Year".  Also recognized were the firefighters that responded to backup the Jeffersontown Fire Protection District on June 6, 2002.  In a letter that he sent to Chief Yuodis, Chief Jack Reckner, (Chief of Jeffersontown) enumerated the actions of our members and commended them for their actions that resulted in both safely and efficiently preventing further loss of property.  Buechel's crews also were assigned in key positions within the Incident Command System, maintaining accurate accountability of crews operating at the scene.

The following members were awarded the fire districts "Unit Citation Award"
