| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 6, 2002 BUECHEL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICTLt. Col. Gary Yurt announces his retirement...Assistant Chief Gary Yurt announced, effective August 20, 2002, he will retire after 18 years of service to the Buechel Fire Protection District. Gary was formerly a Safety Director for Borden Chemical and a volunteer with Buechel. He has taken on a new job as the first full-time paid Fire Chief for the Worthington Fire Protection District in Eastern Jefferson County. Gary was one of buechel's first "Cadet Firefighters" in 1984 and has progressed through the ranks to his current position as Assistant Fire Chief. We will certainly miss Gary, since we have all come to appreciate his leadership and wit. Gary's commitment to both the fire district and community are greatly appreciated.
