Fire Prevention BureauThe Fire Prevention Bureau is under the direction of Captain Adam C. Jones. The Bureau is responsible for conducting inspections of all commercial and multi-family residential occupancies within the Buechel Fire Protection Districts' jurisdiction. The Bureau also is tasked with Public Education and Fire Safety projects held throughout the year. All of the districts building plan approvals, and public education events are scheduled through the fire prevention bureau. The following is a list of some of the other services that the Fire Prevention Bureau offers. Home Safety InspectionsResidents of the Buechel Fire Protection District can contact the Bureau to schedule a courtesy fire safety inspection of their home by calling the Bureau anytime Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The safety inspection is offered as a service to point out items found in every home that may cause a fire or other emergency situation. The findings are given to the home owner and are merely recommendations to make the home safe. The recommendations are not required to be corrected since single family homes are exempt from State Fire Codes & Regulations. The "Home Safety Inspections" are offered free of charge and are scheduled on a first come first served basis. For more information about this service, please call Capt. Recreational Vehicle Safety InspectionAnyone that purchases a recreational vehicle (RV) outside of the State of Kentucky is required to have it inspected by the State Fire Marshal's Office, Manufactured Housing Division prior to licensing it in Kentucky. As Deputy State Fire Marshal's, we offer that service here at our station for the residents of Jefferson County. We have two certified RV Inspectors who can complete the inspections by appointment. If you need an RV inspected, please contact our office at (502) 491-0085 Monday - Friday to schedule your appointment. Daycare or School VisitYour daycare or school can request to visit the Fire House or have a Fire Engine come to your school for a function. Literature & HandoutsThe Bureau also maintains free "Home Safety Brochures" and other pamphlets that you may request on specific topics such as "Home Heating Safety Tips", "Holiday Safety Tips", "Fire Extinguisher Use and Care" and "Smoke Detector Maintenance" Contact Us For More InformationContact Asst Fire Marshal Adam Jones AJones@buechelfire.com or call (502) 491-0085.
